ICDC was full of smiles and giggles as the children paraded through the halls at our annual costume parade! We’re not sure whose smiles were bigger, the children or the parents! What a great way to close October!!
Teachers enjoyed two days of their own Back to School as they attended their annual in-service training. This year’s theme, Heart and Soul, featured uplifting lessons on the impact teachers have on the lives of students well beyond their years together. Interfaith President and CEO Missy Herndon welcomed the teachers and invited them to Get on the Bus this year with Interfaith’s newest Energy Bus series.
ICDC Director, Martha Klie was proud to show off the newest updates to the school and exciting upcoming goals for this newest school year!
Interfaith Child Development Center opened its doors in 1976 and we are all looking forward to a wonderful 42nd year!
Last night, parents and teachers came together to ring in the new school year! The kids got to meet their teachers and get familiar with their new classrooms and toys. Parents also took home the new 2018–2019 Parent Handbook, checked out our Parents’ Club and became familiar with ICDC’s enrichment programs such as Tae Kwon Do and art.
The first days of school are Aug 15 (School-Age and Full Day Program) and Aug 20 (Partial Day and Transition-to-Kindergarten). Today is the last day of summer camp. Please be aware that ICDC will be closed Aug 13 and 14 for teacher development days.
Even though we’re sad to see summer coming to a close, we will always have the fun memories we made together! Each month, we had around 200 ICDC kids attend our camps, and it was our pleasure to take trips to Chik-Fil-A, the Children’s Museum, the Fish Gallery and learn art from Miss Isabelle.
The last day of summer camp is August 10th. After which, ICDC will be closed August 13 and 14 for a professional development day.
With the school year right around the corner, don’t forget about meeting your teachers and enrichment providers for the 2018–2019 school year! Master Cho, Miss Mary, Miss Virginia and Miss Plsyball will be available to register the children. Partial-day and school-day programs will meet August 8, 4–5 p.m. The Full-day program will meet August 9, 5:30–6:30 p.m.
What a wonderful week to travel with our families and learn so much about their family traditions and culture. Thank you to all the families and students who participated and shared all about their traditions!
The children in the 4 & 5 year-old classes enjoyed a trip to Interfaith’s Veggie Village located at Wendtwood in Creekside. Ms. Sarah, the Interfaith Garden Coordinator, read stories and explained all about the community garden maintained by volunteers. Children were able to taste plants straight out of the garden! We love this example of how ICDC takes learning outside of the classroom with the hands-on integration of learning.
Interfaith Child Development Center hosted annual Silent Auction and Family Evening on Friday, March 23rd. The theme was “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”. Children enjoyed Kona Ice, face painting, cookie decorating and a Taekwondo demonstration by Cho Taekwondo while parents browse over 140 silent auction items.
This annual event is the school’s primary fundraiser which is possible by the hard work of ICDC’S Parents Club and wonderful volunteers. All proceeds from this event will directly benefit the school. Thank you to all the parents, staff and volunteers who made this event a great success.
We are so excited to launch our *NEW* website! Pardon the mess as some buttons and info may be still updating during this transition. Feel free to visit the site and see our new Blog and Event Calendar! As always, call the school as well for any questions or comments! www.interfaithkids.org#InterfaithKids
