At ICDC, children engage in diverse activities, including arts and crafts, cooking games and wonderful social interaction with friends and peers. Also offered are opportunities to experience activities such as field trips.
This fall, Interfaith Child Development Center celebrated their 44th anniversary. Established in 1976, Interfaith Child Development Center is a state licensed school that serves children 18 months through Transition. Our school age program provides care for students in Kindergarten through fourth grade.
“The mission is still the same as it was forty-four years ago, to inspire children to grow, discover, and develop a love of learning,” said Missy Herndon, President and CEO of Interfaith of The Woodlands.
Interfaith Child Development Center is located at 5630 Rush Haven Drive in The Woodlands. Devoted entirely to the development of children, the building has three wings with large well-equipped classrooms and a multi-purpose room. Special enrichment features of the school include five separate age-appropriate playgrounds, a wonderful children’s library, and a hands-on science lab. Extra-curricular activities such as music, creative movement and Spanish are also offered.

ICDC’s Transition to Kindergarten class welcomed spring with a visit to Wendtwoods Park. The children enjoyed reading Spring stories, going on a scavenger hunt, playing team building games, blowing bubbles and flying kites. The visit ended with a teddy bear picnic lunch. Teachers enjoyed two days of their own Back to School as they attended their annual in-service training. This year’s theme, Heart and Soul, featured uplifting lessons on the impact teachers have on the lives of students well beyond their years together. Interfaith President and CEO Missy Herndon welcomed the teachers and invited them to Get on the Bus this year with Interfaith’s newest Energy Bus series.
ICDC Director, Martha Klie was proud to show off the newest updates to the school and exciting upcoming goals for this newest school year!
Interfaith Child Development Center opened its doors in 1976 and we are all looking forward to a wonderful 42nd year!
What a wonderful week to travel with our families and learn so much about their family traditions and culture. Thank you to all the families and students who participated and shared all about their traditions!
The children in the 4 & 5 year-old classes enjoyed a trip to Interfaith’s Veggie Village located at Wendtwood in Creekside. Ms. Sarah, the Interfaith Garden Coordinator, read stories and explained all about the community garden maintained by volunteers. Children were able to taste plants straight out of the garden! We love this example of how ICDC takes learning outside of the classroom with the hands-on integration of learning.
